A sketch from my last vacation in Sardinia. I didn't have much time to draw during the stay, so this is almost it.

Study, june 10 (Le Louvre)…

I went back to the Louvre and was lucky. The moment I arrived, the sun showed up and the light came through the glass roof , as a gift for me so I could catch the light and shadows. The rest of the day was grey and rainy.
I'll have to continue working on this quind of watercolor... with more spontaneity and simplyfication with just the right colors and values on the right places, letting details out and, of course, all that right away... just EASY like that!
This one is for my daughter Chloé, who came with me.

A mix of older watercolors…
I try as much as possible not to draw too much before painting whith watercolor. This avoids doing coloring instead of painting.
This portrait was maid without drawing. The model inspired me as she makes me think of Marie-Thérèse Walter* and how I imagine her with a sculptural face.
(*one of Picasso's wifes and mother of their child Maya).

While waiting for someone...
A mix of drawings…

One day… I will do engravings. I would develop a larger grey scale which will enhase the lights and also produce very profound darks. The larger varaiety of lines, very fine ones, heavier ones and the mutiple layers as like the “matière” will all ad the variety a drawing need. Even the paper gets richer and more precious treated this way.
