Today : Big cleaning in my new "studio" !

A whole room (almost) for myself, my drawings and my paintings. Now empty and clean ! So just looking for a nice working table while trying to think of the best way to get the most out of this paradise corner of my home. My own space, where I hope I can concentrate and work harder more seriously and more often in the future. =: )

My new sketchbook…

Just a little while alone at home this afternoon to explore one of my new sketchbooks. It didn't turn out at all as I thought it would and I wasn't at all supposed to do the vieuw from my window again. But the light was nice up there at that moment, after a long day of pouring rain. I guess that was how I could paint at all, thank's to the sun and the contrasts it creates.
Anyway I'm suprised how well I could work with watercolor on this paper. Even though it looks a little like a gouache, that's ok with me. It feels like I'm going to have fun with my new sketchbook…

Today, just a little doodle of those around me…

… among others my son Alix. I also took the time to buy some new sketchbooks for the summer. I'm suprised I feel so excited about them this time. Feels like Christmas! Hope the feeling will last for long.

Back to "work", at "Jardin de Luxembourg"…

I kind of like this picture...
the chairs are empty but they don't seem to be.

This man was wearing a knitted cap in the heat!!
But he was at least barefoot.

Feels good to have had time and possibility to go back into "drawing mode" today. As it's terribly hot right now, I went to the Luxembourg parc. Here people tend to go for a rest in the shadow of the trees sitting in the parcs typical chairs (those you can also see in some of D.Hockney's paintings), to play chess while others play "la petanque" or maybe take their kids to the playground. For me it's the perfect place to go to with a good book to read or with my sketchbook…

Amsterdam, end of june…

Not many drawings from Amsterdam, even if I kept my sketchbook with me all the time. The girl on these drawings is my daughter Chloé. We spent 3 days alone, just the two of us, having a good time together. Stroling and cycling + visiting my friends Van Gogh and Rembrant + as many expositions as possible. My swedish origines makes me feel a little bit like being at "home" there and the dutch seem to be friendly and interesting...
