"Still life III"...

This is a watercolor study of a piece of folded paper, no drawing on before hand, on Montval Canson paper (40x27cm). Having done a few before, the "not drawing" is no longer a problem, it rather clearly gives greater freedom.
How difficult it is to keep the colors light! I also have tendency to see a lot of tones everywhere, even though that is a good thing, when you can manage to control yourself.
I'll try to continue, the result is still a bit from what I have in mind...

Hi Helen !
It's a beautiful and inspiring blog you have !
This crumpled paper looks like a mysterious conch to me...

Makes a great painting.
I've been trying to do this 'not drawing' as well...though I'm not nearly as adept as you, I do agree it gives a real sense of freedom!
It's a difficult light to paint on this texture that.
I'm a bit happy not feeling alone with seing man manu tones everywhere

Just as I started to "fall asleep" on this blog activity, I realize how important feedback is to keep it going.
Thank you for you supportive words, when I need them most!
