A tribute to Andrew Wyeth...

A tribute to american painter Andrew Wyeth, with this painting which was also the topic for watercolor teaching class... How to reserve the white of the paper and make it "glow", by paying attention to the surrounding values. These play the most important role in the final impression of the whites. To end, the task was to make the snowy and, a bit windy, weather impression...

  1. Lovely practice, Helen! I'm a big fan for Andrew Wyeth. His work has convinced me non-restricted potential in watercolour.
    Best wishes, Sadami

  6. Hola Helen!!! Bonne année!!!!
Me ha gustado mucho esta acuarela y como el gran maestro Wyeth consigue, tú también lo logras con esta diferenciación de "blancos".
    Me encanta.
Me gustaría verte en el blog de los ladrones, de vez en cuando.
    Un fuerte abrazo.

  9. Gorgeous, and very Wyeth-like. I love his complicated neutrals, which you've used too. The purple-gray of the background trees is especially lovely to me.
